Bootlegger Guitar Royal 2021

The Royal is designed to perform all the styles you want to play. A sturdy hard body, specifically built to handle the heaviest and most physically demanding guitar playing styles. The Royals sleek body is uniquely designed for full power chording, heavy riffing and progressive styles.

Built with a Poplar hardwood and a quilted Maple top. The neck is Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard to maintain great rich tone. It has a shallow “C’ shape neck that is as comfortable to strum as it is to shred,

The electronics consist of a 5-way switch, a volume and tone control. It has a very comfortable belly carve and cutaway (chamfer) for your arm to make it effortless to play all day long. The hardware is chrome with Grover tuners and low profile aluminum speed knobs. It has a dual action truss rod to give you “your” perfect setup.

The Royal series uses modern electric guitar design elements with comfort and ergonomics as a priority. With our floating tremolo and double locking stud system this guitar is ready to “dive bomb” Van Halen style riffs and stay in tune. It has a full 2 octave 24 fret neck so you always have all the notes available for you to use on any style you want to play. It has a 25.5” scale length for easy navigation up and down the fret board.

The Royal is designed to embolden the modern guitarist and inspire creativity.. The pickup arrangement is a hybrid H-H (rail)-H that gives you many tonal options. We use our matched high gain Bootlegger 98 humbuckers with a single coil in the middle position. The two humbuckers feature Coil Splitting (not coil taping)

Coil Splitting is a way to add another dimension of tone to your Royal, you can essentially double your tone. You can use this to “cut through” in a mix or in your band. You can use different combinations of the 3 pickups to develop your own unique sound. Coil Splitting splits a humbucker into a single coil pickup. When you split two humbuckers you have a pair of single coils. With our hybrid H – H (rail) H set with the coil split on you have two single coil pickups and a middle rail humbucker. A humbucker that is split will not sound the same as a standard single coil, so this adds a unique tone to your guitar. It cuts bass or beefyness and increases high end. With coil split on and the volume increased playing through a good (our Blues 15/30 6L6 Tube) amp you will get that Zeppelin sharp high gain tone.

1/2021 Royal Guitar Buyer Review From Reverb

It was Love at first sight, Chuck posted a picture on line and I Immediately sent him a message to hold one for me. A week later it was in my hands and I was stunned with the Royal’s out of the box playability and beauty. I plugged it into my 100watt Krank Head and my Budda 2/12-2/10 cabinet and started getting my neighbors attention! For some reason they think I am a guitar player…I’m 68 and started playing guitar in my mid 40’s and will never claim to be a talented musician but this Royal is so easy to play and has so many musical options of sounds that even I can sound fantastic. This is my 2nd Bootlegger guitar, I bought Chucks Hounder last summer and plan to buy another Bootlegger soon. I recommend Bootlegger Guitars to every player at every level, they are priced well below their market value and as musical instruments are equal to any professional model out there. Also where can you buy a guitar and actually talk on the phone with the owner and designer of that instrument? Truly Bootlegger Guitars are at a level above the competition. Thank you Gene D.

12/2021 Royal Buyer Review From Amazon

I was a bit worried about thos guitar before I bought it. It was undoubtedly beautiful in the pictures, but there can be alot of things that look great online and don’t live up to the pics in person, but I had some very high end pickups I was looking to put into a hsh body and the pics looked great. Wow was I impressed. The pics do not do it justice. I have a vintage SG, a gretsch white falcon, an American straw, and a few more toys I have gained through the years, but this has become my daily player and I have decided against putting the pickups in it. The Bootlegger Royal has such a impressive array of tons. I can use the coil tap and get a bright fender-type sound, or dig in on the humbuckers and get a real meaty sound. On top of the sound I really cannot say enough about the look. The frets are polished and have rolled edges once the strings were stretched out it held a tune well. The only thing I changed was adding some new knobs. Virginia
