Royal Honey Coil Split Floating Double Locking Tremolo With Stiletto Hard Case

Categories: ,

The new Bootlegger Guitar called the Royal is a concept conceived by two Steve’s and Chuck. first being Steve Paulson or Reno is a custom guitar builder, second Steve (Steve Stine of GuitarZoom) is an amazing inspirational online guitar instructor with GuitarZoom and Chuck or Mr. Bootlegger Guitar is the founder and visionary behind the boutique guitar brand and concepts.

We wanted to create a versatile “modern” style guitar to compliment the awesome vintage guitars Bootlegger Guitars currently offer. We spent  a year designing, building, and refining the guitar into a working prototype for all of us to approve. The result was a modern style guitar that is comfortable to play, versatile for many different styles, and has many tonal options.

Our Royal has a poplar body with a quilted maple top to give it a great tone. We offer the Royal in original Royal Blue and our new Honey and Red all stunning see through burst finishes. The neck is maple with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard to maintain that great rich tone. It has a shallow “C’ shape that is as comfortable to strum as it is to shred with diamond whiskey fret markers.

It has a full 2 octave 24 fret neck so you always have all the notes available for you to use on any song you want to play. It has a 25.5” scale length for easy navigation up and down the fret board and a double locking floating tremolo system to keep it in tune even when attempting those “dive bomb” Van Halen style riffs.

The electronics consist of a 5-way switch, a volume and tone control. It has a very comfortable belly carve and chamfer for your arm to make it effortless to play all day long. The hardware is chrome with Grover tuners. It has a dual action truss rod to give you “your” perfect setup options. The pickup arrangement is a hybrid H-S-H that gives you many tonal options to choose from.

This guitar was built with purpose, thought, and inspiration. We wanted a guitar built for the “regular” player as well as the “performing” artist. We wanted it to have all the useful options needed for all skill levels and tonal desires to cover most genres of music. We wanted it to look, feel, and play like your “go-to” guitar should. We wanted it balanced and lightweight but still have that solid well built feel to it.

Many versions were tried and many failed to live up to our expectations but the Royal rose to the top and met the objective. This is truly a modern, versatile, and great playing guitar. The factory prototype was debuted at NAMM 2019 and then again at a private event during the 2019 Sweetwater Gearfest. It was widely praised by the diverse group of players that attended both events.

The Royal guitar has traveled  across the country several times to luthiers, artists and industry Expert’s gaining their approval. It is now being played like all our guitars by owners around the world. The Royal stood true to its name and past the road test and is now available to the public thanks to Bootlegger Guitar and all involved.

Thank you Bootlegger! My guitar arrived as beautifully as I expected.

The quality of this instrument makes itself know as soon as you have it in your hands!

The “shallow C” neck. is absolutely love! And the sound from the 98’s  pickups, 5 way switch and push pull pots give you versatility to jam your way!

This guitar is obviously labor of love. Thank you Chuck and the collaborative work from Steve Stine and Reno Paulson!

I glad I bought from Bootlegger and proud to own a Royal!

1/2021 Royal Guitar Buyer Review From Reverb

It was Love at first sight, Chuck posted a picture on line and I Immediately sent him a message to hold one for me. A week later it was in my hands and I was stunned with the Royal’s out of the box playability and beauty. I plugged it into my 100watt Krank Head and my Budda 2/12-2/10 cabinet and started getting my neighbors attention! For some reason they think I am a guitar player…I’m 68 and started playing guitar in my mid 40’s and will never claim to be a talented musician but this Royal is so easy to play and has so many musical options of sounds that even I can sound fantastic. This is my 2nd Bootlegger guitar, I bought Chucks Hounder last summer and plan to buy another Bootlegger soon. I recommend Bootlegger Guitars to every player at every level, they are priced well below their market value and as musical instruments are equal to any professional model out there. Also where can you buy a guitar and actually talk on the phone with the owner and designer of that instrument? Truly Bootlegger Guitars are at a level above the competition. Thank you Gene D.

12/2021 Royal Buyer Review From Amazon

I was a bit worried about thos guitar before I bought it. It was undoubtedly beautiful in the pictures, but there can be alot of things that look great online and don’t live up to the pics in person, but I had some very high end pickups I was looking to put into a hsh body and the pics looked great. Wow was I impressed. The pics do not do it justice. I have a vintage SG, a gretsch white falcon, an American straw, and a few more toys I have gained through the years, but this has become my daily player and I have decided against putting the pickups in it. The Bootlegger Royal has such a impressive array of tons. I can use the coil tap and get a bright fender-type sound, or dig in on the humbuckers and get a real meaty sound. On top of the sound I really cannot say enough about the look. The frets are polished and have rolled edges once the strings were stretched out it held a tune well. The only thing I changed was adding some new knobs. Virginia
